Health & Wellness Coaching

As a Health & Wellness coach I have a diverse background in fitness, healthcare and psychology.

With over 15 years of expertise in Pilates instruction, I  bring a unique perspective to fitness and well-being. Prior to my career in Pilates, I spent over 14 years treating patients as a doctor of chiropractic specializing in pain management, injury rehabilitation, and wellness care. I have helped numerous clients improve their strength, flexibility, and overall well-being through personalized and effective health and wellness coaching.

In addition to my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, I hold a Master's degree from a California professional school of psychology and  I am a certified Cognitive-Behavioral coach, focusing on teaching mindfulness for improved health and wellness. My holistic approach to well-being combines my extensive medical knowledge with my expertise in Pilates and cognitive-behavioral coaching to help clients achieve optimal physical health. This unique background gives me a deep understanding of the body and how to help clients improve their health and well-being.

Whether guiding clients through Pilates sessions, coaching them on cognitive-behavioral tools, or mindfulness techniques, I am dedicated to empowering individuals to take control of their health and wellness. My passion for helping others reach their full potential shines through in my compassionate teaching style and personalized approach to fitness and well-being.

With a passion for helping others achieve their health goals, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every session, creating a supportive and empowering environment for clients to thrive. Whether you're seeking motivation to improve your overall health or surpass perceived obstacles to improving your fitness & wellness, I am dedicated to helping you reach your full potential.

Coaching verses Counseling

Coaching and counseling are both powerful tools for personal development and growth, but they differ in their approaches and objectives.

Coaching focuses on helping individuals identify and achieve their goals, whether they are personal or professional. Coaches work with clients to create action plans, provide support and accountability, and help them develop the skills and mindset needed to reach their full potential.

Counseling, on the other hand, is more targeted towards addressing and resolving psychological issues, emotional challenges, and past traumas. Counselors help individuals explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and provide strategies for coping with difficulties and improving overall mental health and well-being.

While coaching is more future-oriented and goal-driven, counseling tends to delve into the past to understand and heal emotional wounds. Both coaching and counseling can be incredibly beneficial for individuals seeking guidance and support, but it's important to choose the approach that best aligns with your specific needs and goals.

Moreover, health and wellness coaching and counseling are both valuable approaches for supporting individuals in achieving their well-being goals, but they serve different purposes and have distinct focuses. Here are the key differences between the two:

1. Health and Wellness Coaching:
   - Coaching is a client-centered approach that focuses on empowering individuals to make positive changes in their health and well-being.
   - Coaches work with clients to set goals, create action plans, and provide ongoing support and accountability to help clients achieve their desired outcomes.
   - Health and wellness coaches typically have training in behavior change, motivation, and goal setting, and they use a coaching framework to facilitate the client's own self-discovery and growth.
   - Coaching is often more action-oriented and future-focused, helping clients develop the skills, motivation, and mindset needed to make sustainable lifestyle changes.

2. Counseling:
   - Counseling, on the other hand, typically involves a more therapeutic and clinical approach aimed at addressing deeper emotional, mental, and psychological issues that may be impacting an individual's health and well-being.
   - Counselors are trained mental health professionals who diagnose and treat mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction, among others.
   - Counseling may involve exploring past experiences, emotions, and thought patterns to help individuals better understand and navigate their struggles and challenges.
   - The focus of counseling is often on healing, personal growth, and resolving internal conflicts and barriers to well-being.

In summary, health and wellness coaching is more focused on supporting clients in making positive behavioral changes and achieving their health goals through a strengths-based, client-led approach. Counseling, on the other hand, is more focused on addressing underlying emotional and psychological issues that may be impacting a person's overall well-being. Both coaching and counseling can be valuable tools in supporting individuals on their journey to optimal health and wellness, and the choice between the two will depend on the individual's needs and preferences.
